HC orders BJP to change location of Kasba protest rally, questions necessity after arrests
Every year on July 1, India observes National Doctors’ Day to honour the contribution of doctors to public health and medical service. The day marks the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and former Chief Minister of West Bengal. Across the country, various programmes are held to express gratitude to doctors for their service.
On the occasion, Howrah MP Prasun Banerjee visited the headquarters of Howrah Municipal Corporation and extended greetings to Dr. Sujay Chakraborty, Chairman of the Corporation’s Administration Board. He felicitated Dr. Chakraborty for his role in municipal healthcare management and handed over a fully equipped advanced ambulance. The ambulance has been provided from the MP’s local area development fund and is intended for use in civic medical services across Howrah.
State minister Aroop Roy and members of the Howrah Municipal Corporation Administration Board were present during the event. The ambulance is equipped with modern life-saving facilities. According to the organisers, the initiative was part of a broader effort to strengthen emergency healthcare infrastructure within the municipal limits.
